Last year, my son's school had a family skate night at the local roller rink. They had several races for the kids and parents and when it was the women's race, I took to the start line, along with the mama of this family. We didn't know anything about each other at the time, and after the race, all I knew was she was the face of the woman who took 1st place as I came in second!
Fast forward a few month and she reached out for a photo shoot. It was only then that we made the connection of how she was the victorious one in the rink. Our shoot was nothing less than hysterical, and she taught me my favorite move of shaking my booty to get the kiddos to laugh. She has become a friend and while we live in the same town and I still don't see her often, I she is someone I truly appreciate and I am happy to know!
